Too Wild to Tame by Tessa Bailey

3.5

Too Wild to Tame is book #2 in the Romancing the Clarkson's series and follows Aaron as he meets and falls in love with Grace. While you'd be missing the general context of the road trip the family is taking if you didn't read book #1, I think you could read this book without reading the first.
Book tropes include: love at first site (even if it's not openly admitted by either character); opposites attract; ... honestly there aren't a lot of your "typical" tropes in this book, now that I try to list them...

Both Grace and Aaron have a ton of emotional baggage that they bring to this relationship, most of it serving as a roadblock at some point in the book. While they tend to initially overreact (i.e., leaving before giving the other a chance to respond to some piece of information), Grace and Aaron are pretty good about opening up to one another and working through their problems - even if it does take some pushing from those around them. I didn't really connect with either Grace or Aaron, and it definitely felt like I was just learning about their relationship while I read instead of immersing myself in the story, but I didn't dislike it.

Overall, I liked this book more than the first in the series. I'm still enjoying this road trip the Clarkson's are taking and can't wait to see what happens with Peggy and her one true love next.
