To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
5.0
This was the first classic book I've ever read, and now I understand why it was regarded as one of the most important books of all time that one should definitely read. I admit that it started a bit slow at the first few chapters, and the vocabulary of it was rather difficult and not commonly used especially in today's time. But once you read further and deeper to the narrative of the six year old girl named Scout, you will realize how important, powerful and eye-opening this book is for it reminds us to the human cruelties and racial injustices that still happens to this day. It taught me about being compassionate and respectful towards others, and that decent people still exists. It taught us that every one of us still makes the same mistakes, regardless of our category to the human race. It taught us that even our historical and cultural backgrounds are different, we are still the same and we should still respect and love one another.
