Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

5.0

Honestly speaking....I could not keep this book down. I had this continuous urge to know what's going to happen next when I was busy with homework or studies.

I learned from this book that the word "understanding" in context to people, has several layers. There are ways in which you can understand a person and sometimes, even when something seems wrong in your eyes, which has a hope of turning things around for the better, may not prove to be the same for that respective person. In other words, everyone has their own reasons as to why they choose a certain path, even if that looks unreasonable or "morally wrong". Everything is very relative and depends on situation and circumstance. I gave a very brief, over-view of what this book has really taught me or perhaps made me realize something, but yes, sometimes, we have to let go, in order to live; sometimes we have to listen in order to understand someone's unshakable will.

"Me Before You" is one of those novels which wasn't clichéd at all. A huge page-turner with unpredictable scenes and had quiet the humor and cute scenes. I couldn't stop aww-ing~
It showed "love" in a very different light, probably under the most truest light--how a tenure does not define the relationship between two people or that sometimes, real-love can't stay but can change two lives in such unique ways--help each other grow and spread their horizons. It's almost heart-crushing at the end. I had to restrain myself from crying, but I was torn apart inside. I haven't read a (not just a love) story like this and it'll forever be etched inside my heart.

I really don't want to spoil this book by giving such a simple review, because trust me, this book has SO MUCH MORE THAT JUST ROMANCE! READ IT!! READ IT!! My only advice to anyone reading this review is that you read this book; try to realize the reasons behind everything that is taking place and I hope that, at the end of this overwhelming read, you understand the true meaning behind "understanding".

I'll now go and watch the movie because I really wanted to read the book before watching the movie and shall soon start with the sequel, "After You". Seriously, this book is truly one of a kind :')
