I did love this series, just some things could have been done better. I felt as though I didn’t have a connection with either phoenix or mouse. I honestly didn’t even care for mouse at all and I do think that it would have been a better ending if the main character did die. Some of the plot was confusing at times, especially when it was about all the tribe etc. but that didn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the book. I felt more for Grenald and Otto dying then I did the three main characters living.
The main thing I liked about this book was the traitor being Arden, I did not expect that at all as he was with them from the start. It was a good twist.
Overall the series was good, things could have changed to further better the books especially the second but worth the read.
