Scarred Regrets by Adelaide Forrest

5.0

I have been anxiously and very patiently waiting for Scar's story and Adelaide Forrest did not disappoint. She gave me everything I thought I needed and so much more!
Scar's life has not been very kind to him, in the worse possible ways he has become who he is because of his past and what people he trusted had done to him. His horrendous past, his present as Ivory and Luna's personal bodyguard, have created a machine who suffers no remorse for what he does for the Bellandi family.
Irina enters into Scar's life, a beautiful butterfly that he feels is too good for him, and he keeps her at a distance, not allowing himself, or her, to get close. He feels unworthy, and resolves to go through his life without emotion or feelings and definitely feels incapable of love.
Adelaide produces characters who are severely flawed, thought to be unlovable, but she always weaves them couple together, matching their broken pieces and meshing them as one.
I will never be able to look at an axe again without envisioning that scene.
