Reminded me of Downton Abbey or Upstairs Downstairs
Loved the story which kept me gripped despite length of book. Read last 150 pages in one sitting.
Thought story came together really well at end with all parts nicely tied up except for story about Gracie’s grandson (Marcus) - at one point sure narrative was that he had disappeared - not explained - but he had clearly had a significant loss & emotionally trauma he was working thru but clever twist that Gracie left him her story with true ending.
I didn’t see Hannah’s love affair with the poet coming
I did guess that Lord xx had had an illicit relationship with the housemaid (Gracie’s mum ) & Hannah & Gracie were sisters
