This is honestly the first book I've read where the main character didn't end up with the first guy she met.

...And that's why I LOVED it.

You can tell by the end of the series that Nick and Zara are two completely different people then who they were when they first met. And if they had ended up together, I would've been extremely disappointed because they just don't fit together anymore. Astley, on the other hand, has grown with Zara and supports her no matter what or who she is. I loved that. Finally, some actual goddamn sense.

The only thing I didn't love was the whole Loki thing. I mean, really? REALLY? Loki, the all-powerful, all-cunning trickster, forgot he could shapeshift for eons and it takes a human girl reminding him of that for him to remember? I can extend my disbelief pretty far, but even that I had to read several times before I was like screw it, moving on.

Other than that, loved it. Beautiful ending to an otherwise flawed series.
