Give Me Your Hand by Megan Abbott

This thriller didn't live up to expectations writing-wise but I did enjoy the setting of women in science. All of the lab-life backstory with specific protocols and grant positions and competition among colleagues was all very real and engaging. I also appreciated that any of the characters' morally reprehensible acts were described in a nuanced way that allowed me to view both sides of the situations and to really feel torn about wanting all of the truth to be exposed. In the end I found a lot to ponder and I liked the unexpected plot twists.
