The Princess Diarist by Carrie Fisher

funny lighthearted reflective slow-paced

4.0

This was a delightfully quirky, sarcastic, sassy, and somewhat unhinged memoir. Unlike many celebrity memoirs, Carrie Fisher’s writing comes across genuine and painfully honest. I particularly enjoyed listening to the audiobook as I read along, especially hearing the 1970s journal entries in her daughter’s voice.
Her referencing comic cons as lap dances was both hilarious and sobering at the same time.
It’s truly fascinating to hear her thoughts on the character she portrayed in Star Wars, as well as her experience filming and with fans.
If anything, her affair with Harrison Ford is the least interesting part of her story.
