I really liked this book! As with Meagan Spooner's other fairytale book Hunted, I felt that the journey was a little bit more satisfying than the destination. However, I did not think the ending was bad by any means, I just wish we had gotten a bit more closure. We can assume what happens to the two main characters, but I was also very interested in the side characters. Basically I just want an epilogue. But aside from that, this was probably one of the most satisfying uses of the enemies to lovers trope that I have ever seen. I really believed in both the "enemies" and "lovers" aspects. It all just felt very real to me, even though I know there were probably a lot of historical inaccuracies. The only thing that would have made the romance better is an epilogue. 

This might bother some people, but I thought it was refreshing to read about a heroine who had a difficult time deciphering her own emotions. Also it's nice to see a tall girl who isn't described as "willowy," I respect that the author just let Marian be kind of buff, and that she was not depicted as any less desirable by the author because of it. She has her insecurities, but she does not generally describe herself in a negative way. 

I am honestly surprised the rating is so low for this book because I thought it was great.
