This was an amazing, emotional, inspiring story of recovery from the horrors of child acting. Jennette wrote her story in such a real way; I could connect with her so much. The tonal shifts from childhood to adulthood were subtle and seamless. The only reason I didn't rate this a 5 was because of how triggering some of the content was, especially the eating disorders and the emotional abuse. For me, it felt overwhelming, which is exactly what we're supposed to feel, but it was still a lot. This doesn't make the book worse, just something I'm so glad I read and can appreciate, but not something I would read again.
Graphic: Alcoholism, Cancer, Child abuse, Eating disorder, Emotional abuse, Sexual content, Vomit, and Death of parent
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders, Excrement, Stalking, and Schizophrenia/Psychosis
