I started this not knowing how perfect the book was for the spooky season.
Let's start off with a little about "Willow Weeps". The main plot of the story is that Willow is a young child who goes missing at the fair. Which she attended with her big brother Andy.
Thirty years later Andy has his own family, his mother doesn't talk to him. Though his father still has a big part in his life. Suddenly out of nowhere a lady named Cleo, asks to meet Andy and tells him his sister Willow has reached out to him. This starts an unlikely adventure to find out what happened to his sister thirty years before. And if Andy, Cleo, with their odd group of people from his past can solve the missing case now.
I was given the Audible book by Garcia, and I have to say I LOVED her narrator! Grant Love did a fantastic job on the voices and with the details of reading the book. His voice was smooth and the flow of speech was magical. He actually kinda sounded like Sam Heughan. Which really freaked me out for a moment. Because of his reading, we gave him a 10/10 rating. But fair warning everyone, this Audible book has sound effects. Which a couple times did drown out the reading. But overall it really added to the spooky feeling.
I was impressed with the character makeup and descriptions. Each character was shown in a light that we could easily relate to. Which helped influence our feelings in the book. I found that our character had a "before" and "after". Which helped show us the changes that happened over the course of the thirty years.
Even Willow had changed. Though I am not sure if it was for the better or the worst. Either way I feel like we would have never gotten the answers to her disappearance if she hadn’t also not changed.
All in all I can proudly say that this book has a rating of 10/10 from us. And I highly recommend that you check it out this fall.
