The Witch of Little Italy by Suzanne Palmieri

2.0

I was disappointed with this book. It sounded interesting, intriguing, and the premise reminded me a bit of Alice Hoffman--one of my favorites. The characters fell flat, the love story wasn't developed at all (the writer handed us two characters practically already tied up in a neat little package and never really told us why they love each other and why they are such a great match other than their childhood bond), the terrible things that loomed over the story (such as Cooper) were glossed over, the dialogue was often cheesy and just unbelievable, and I did not find the writing charming or particularly well done. To me it often felt clunky and boring. Definitely not a remarkable read.
