Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake
4.0
Fascinating and authoritative (everything is scrupulously referenced) if a bit rambling. Mostly it’s an enjoyable ramble, but occasionally it does feel a bit flabby.
Another minor criticism is the many hints at breakthrough science or the application of a particular method, without always elaborating on the efficacy of it. Although this would be tricky in a 250 page book and, as he mentions, much of this is unknown.
I particularly enjoyed his musings on the metaphorical framing of the fungal world and the dangers of anthropomorphising it.
