Body Double by Tess Gerritsen

5.0

This is my favorite Rizzoli and Isles novel (so far)! ... And it is not because of my Rizzles-tinted glasses... Gerritsen delivers on everything she has promised for this series and pushes it even further to deliver a crime thriller that was gripping, heart-wrenching, and thought-provoking from beginning to end. The romance in this book actually feels warranted by the end and adds a dimension to the story that drives the twist reveal home. One of my least favorite aspects of The Surgeon and The Apprentice was the killer's inner monologue and it has been replaced this time with the victim's experience which definitely impacted my overall feelings towards this novel. In addition, Gerritsen continues to inject her story with feminist themes that feel entirely modern and are critically important for a crime series following two women. I cannot WAIT to pick up the fifth novel!
