Death Comes as the End by Agatha Christie

2.0

2.5 stars. I didn't really enjoy this. Recognizing this is a mystery, not an educational book or even really historical fiction (I know it literally is), but the setting felt like a play set - entirely superficial.

I was pretty irritated how inaccurate the blurb was to the actual aspects of the story. While this didn't matter, it's like the blurb was written by somebody guessing about the book, and not actually familar with it.

I found the main character to be a naive simpleton, and entirely uninteresting, as well as unable to carry the narrative.

I did love the Grandma, and the mystery itself was fine though nothing special - but I was expecting far more from the plot.

I recommend to die-hard fans of Christie. For mystery fans, this may scratch the itch but there are far better mysteries out there - from the genre as well as this author specifically.
