While I loved the theme and the thrill, I don’t think that the ending fit Dani. The author doesn’t go into detail why she was feeling pulled to go start a farm and we never really see her interest in marketing or organic foods. Like she can’t even cook, why would she be interested in organic food vs regular produce? I think that she should’ve ended up in Paris with Ansel doing something that she’d discovered that she loved. I understand that characters sometimes travel down paths that the author had no intention of allowing them to travel but 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not my story and they’re not my characters but I still wish they had chosen differently. Part of growth is discovering your likes and dislikes and the “marketing” seemed like a cop-out.
Overall it was still an enjoyable story and I was happy that Dani and Lachlan were happy in the end. I’ll probably still be thinking about this book for a while, though it will be about my disappointment with the ending.
