I enjoyed the plot, and I am intrigued by the magic system! I do want to continue reading the series to see where it goes… And unlike most books, I really enjoyed the action scenes!
However, there were A LOT of tangents. Between the dialect, the constant mentioning of locations, and the many pop culture and history references, there was almost too much going on for me. They muddled the plot, and it was more morbid than I expected (although I guess that should be expected from a book called the Library of the Dead).
I would recommend for fans of…
👻 ghosts and other creepy stories
✨ magic systems (especially those with science cross overs)
🤪 weird characters and references
