Scott’s emotional journey and all of his firsts really suggest this book should be heavy. But in reality it was made both impactful and light. It allowed you to stay an observer of his position and where his mind is at times, but doesn’t drag you with him. While it could have left the reader in a dark emotional place, it was addressed and written with a finesse that didn't weigh heavily on the reader.
I loved the emotional maturity shown by the MCs. The reality of blending someone into your family felt honest and real. Davis is real single dad book boyfriend goals.
