I need to start off by saying that the lovely author of this series has placed the full length audiobooks up for free on her YouTube channel. I, personally, have always struggled to get into audiobooks. Even during my degree, my lecturers would always suggest listening to the audiobook, and I just wasn't having it, I couldn't focus on them. However, on the day I started The Fae & The Fallen, I was on the train home, in a reading slump, needing something to distract me because I was feeling anxious. I searched up audiobooks, as you do, and The Fae & The Fallen was the first one I found. And I'm glad I did, because it finally allowed me to delve into the world of audiobooks and enjoy them.

The general story was good. The world is fascinating and almost has a dystopian vibe to it as it discusses the Fae, the Gifted and the domestic sacrifice that comes with having a rare gift. I did enjoy both Reina and Kaito's perspectives, but I do feel as if towards the end of the book, things did begin to feel rushed. Either way, I am still finding that over a month later, I'm still wondering what happened after that cliffhanger. Therefore, I will definitely be listening to the next book in the future.

I do think that this isn't probably a book that I would pick up and read regularly in a written format, as it does read as a younger YA format with some upper YA scenes, and I prefer to read upper YA/NA, but I found it enjoyable as an audiobook!
