I haven't read a single dad romance book in a while, i guess. I vaguely remember a book with the same trope that I read over 10 years ago.
The beginning was sweet. But then came the boredom and the weirdness. The way their relationship started was a little bit too stalkish for me. And I wanted to dnf the book quite a few times, mostly because nothing interesting really happened.
Now, what saved this book and took it on the right path was that the romantic relationship between the main characters was really healthy. It began knowing the truth (God bless their soul because I could have not bare the lie later in the book and the common breakup trope and basically what I expected and never happened. Thankfully). And finally l, a mature couple that knew how to communicate. Where was that girl at the beginning of the book we don't know, we don't ask. I guess it needed a dose of craziness to be able to reach a point of meeting and talking.
Overall, a good book if you have patience. I think the readers with the urge to dnf at 20% should wait just a little bit more to give the book a fair chance.
