Halston and Ford meet via a dating app using the pseudonyms Absinthe and Kerouac. They spend summer talking to each other, at first via text (including sexting), then email and phone, without actually meeting in person.

Once school resumes Halston discovers the new Principal is Kerouac and Ford realises Halston is Absinthe.

The sparks between Halston and Ford were palpable and the characters were well developed and easy to like. I enjoyed the slow reveal of background information, rather than a large info dump, as it added depth to the characters.

Overall this was an easy and enjoyable read with lots of literary references and well rounded characters.
