An impressive collection of stories. They seem so delightfully meandering and yet by the end, you realise that every little detail was necessary.
The structure of short novellas in a mostly episodic series is really approachable and enjoyable.

You don't have to know anything else about the world of A Song of Ice and Fire, or the Game of Thrones TV show to enjoy this book. Everyone should read it.
