What do you read when your book buddy is in Bermuda on vacation, you have to cancel your trip to West Virginia because of bed bugs? Amalie Howard's Never Met a Duke Like You, of course! Light enough to be read when you haven't slept in twelve hours because your plane is delayed, and funny enough to make you giggle out loud in the car during a seven-hour trip, this book was a real winner!

Vesper Lyndhurst is a matchmaker. She finds joy in the love of others. She is adept at making people think she is spoiled and silly, so she can pursue her second mission... helping the homeless, prostitutes, and the poor.

Many years ago, she was friends with Aspen, now the Duke of Greydon. Greydon is a paleontologist who has returned to London to help his mother's ward, Judith, find a husband. Greydon and Vesper, aka Lord Ass and Lady Viper, feel the simmering attraction and fight it with all they have.

If you like...

the Duke falling first
a Lady, who breaks society's rules
sex scenes outside
banter, that's both sexy and funny
interfering female friends showing up with kittens
a father, who really knows best
meddling brothers
ball, balls, and more balls -- the kind you go to, and the other, too
greedy, bitches who get what they deserve

You'll love this book.

The book also touches on mental illness in the 1800s and how to regulate the treatment of it. If you've read anything on this subject, you know how desperately regulation and safeguards were needed.

Never Met a Duke Like You is a low-angst, high-energy novel. It was engaging, funny, steamy, and romantic.

I enjoyed it immensely! https://yarmandnerual.blogspot.com/
