Fairy Tail, Volume 39 by Hiro Mashima

5.0

First off, I checked this out from the library and it had parts of the pages ripped out in chapter 333 and a whole page ripped out of 335. Needless to say, with what happened during those chapters I was really stressed and had to buy the volume on my ereader to make sure I didn’t miss something.

Now, omg!!!! This volume!!!!!! Natsu got me so hyped throughout the entire first half of this volume with just how amazing he is and the strength of the friendship and determination of all of Fairy Tail. There was a really good humbling moment for Erza in this volume as well which I think was really important, especially for her character. But anyway, the dragons are here though not exactly in the way we were led to believe and it’s up our guild members and our dragon slayers to help defeat them. The role of time travel and alternate time lines is really interesting and well explained (there’s a helpful graphic outlining it all) and just makes things so much better for the rest of the volume. The second half of the volume had me so terrified and way to emotional for my own good. I had no idea how it was going to play out and man oh man I did not see that ending coming. Now I need to find out how this arc ends!
