If I had to give you the plot of this book it would be - they go back and forth painfully for the first 40% and then you just read about them living as a couple and giving each other googly eyes up until the third act complete miscommunication that easily could have been avoided and then happy days, it’s all solved and they live happily ever after.

This book frustrated me unbelievably. I wanted to dnf but I stuck it out for honestly, god knows why. The first couple of chapters were great - I thought he was a cocky asshole, she was fiery and then it was all downhill from there. Carter was such an incredible simp (not in a good way) and their dialogue had me physically cringing. This would have made more sense as a YA highschool story based on the way they spoke and the choices they made. It was hard to believe they were actually adults with adult careers. Their relationship moved way too fast and I found it hard to believe Carter as this play boy ‘I’ll never have a relationship’ guy suddenly changes his ways and is in love, wants babies and marriage all in the space of a month.

Also, why on earth did the author think it was hot to continuously refer to his d*ck as his ‘dangly bits’ or liken it to snake slithering along the bed.

The only redeeming factors here were Carter’s relationship with Hank and his family and some fairly good supporting characters.
