This book was well worth the wait! Miss Carriger did yet another excellent job in this adventure into YA literature. She was able to keep all of the wit and unexpected twists that made her Parasol Protectorate series so enjoyable. Her new characters as lovable and meddling as her previous.
While this would work beautifully as a stand alone series, I would however, recommend that one read the Parasol Protectorate first, as this series takes place earlier in the same world, with previous characters returning, so having already known them made this an even more enjoyable read.
