I really like this book, it was an interesting and quick read. It was definitely intriguing from start to finish, although a bit challenging to read through some of the content but I knew what I was getting into. I deducted a star just because the writing was alright for me, not great. I’m still not sure how I feel about the open-ended ending, usually I’m not a huge fan of them just because I like a more definite, concrete understanding of what happened. But I think this ending was ok in that sense, because I think either way she ended up free. Whether it means free in the literal sense and she’s alive and her captor is dead, or free in the sense she’s free from this earth and is dead. I’m leaning more towards she’s dead because of the way she was talking about imagining her death so much throughout the book as her form of freedom. Overall, I really liked it but definitely be cautious if sexual assault or abuse is triggering.
