Been There, Done That: A Rousing History of Sex by Rachel Feltman

2.25

Because I do a lot of work in sexual and reproductive health and activism, I read a lot about it. Many books out there are really good, but this is not one of them. I think that irreverent millennial popular science is simply not the genre for me.

I found this book to be very shallow. I think it would have been more valuable if it had delved deeply into one or two topics rather than providing the most surface-level information I have ever read. I also found this book to be aimless. The author just kept presenting facts without much of a point or overarching theme. I guess you could argue that her point is to destigmatize sex, but that’s so 2015. We have progressed beyond sex positivity 101. Underwhelming and intro level.
