Crystal Boys by Pai Hsien-yung

Translations often fail to capture the beauty of the original work, and I'm happy to see that this was not the case here. Have to commend both the author and the translator for this endearing slice-of-life novel.

It is raw, unabashed, unflinchingly honest about its emotions, its characters and their struggles, and the picture it paints of Taiwan in that age.
