The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily by Rachel Cohn, David Levithan

2.0

2.5*
This book.. Was fine, I didn't love it.. I didn't hate it, it was fine.

The twelve days of dash and lily follows on from "dash and lily's book of dares" (which I have to say I did enjoy a lot more than this one) basically following dash and lily and their time around Christmas a year after they got together. I admit it was a nice fluffy read for the Christmas period, however I found myself just getting bored too often and growing extremely tired of dash and lily's relationship, it just seemed so immature and tedious, the constant grand gestures were too much and the paranoia radiating from both characters was just too much.

The Christmas spirit definitely saved this book for me, could there have been more excitement? Hell yeah, but who doesn't love a bit of Christmas?

I found myself really not liking many characters in this book, Langston bugged me for the first half of the book before I noticed myself growing fonder of him as time went on, boomer was so unconvincing stupid, the fact that he's an idiot didn't annoy me, but reading it, it all just felt so fake, and that is what frustrated me, although he did have me chuckling at times I'll give him credit where credit is due! All of the parents seem to just be the absolute worst (do rachel cohn and David leviathan just have a hatred towards parents or is that just me?) like they're never there or around for their kids and they just don't seem to care!

And lastly I found myself struggling to keep up and understand most of what had been written, I mean call me stupid but I just wanted a quick, easy, fluffy, romantic, christmas read and it just took me way too long to get through , I felt like I was forcing myself to keep on reading rather than wanting too.
P. S now my brain hurts
