The Secret Life of Dorothy Soames: A Memoir by Justine Cowan

4.0

This is as a different kind of memoir than is described (as very heightened in its mystique) in the book jacket and ends up being more of a mother-daughter story. Nonetheless, I did like how she laid out her complicated relationship- based on how her mother had been left at a children’s home as an infant... and the impact that abandonment had had on her inadequacies as a mom.
