A Midnight Hope by Stefanie Lozinski

  • Strong character development? No
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

2.0

I find the concept of this book very interesting. It is not often that the ball for the Cinderella story is something different.
I do say however that the garters were lacking. The author tried to make them work through their trauma but it felt shallow. Whenever it was brought up it was confusing bc I didn’t feel like they were really traumatized or hurt by anything by their other actions. There were also several obvious times where the author was dropping hints that we should be wondering about something.
I also found the prophecy and real life fairytale part of it to be lacking.
I don’t think that the characters really fell in love, and I think they knew that too. I think they had potential to fall in love and were in the early stages of it, but they weren’t when the got engaged I think they did bc they felt pressured to.
Also I was expecting her to be more blessed with horses than she was. Which isn’t a bad thing, I was just disappointed.
Overall I’m very disappointed in the book.
