涼宮ハルヒの溜息 by Nagaru Tanigawa
2.0
This is a terrible book. Even two stars feels very generous as there are numerous problems like Kyon pathetic obsession with Mikuru, Mikuru's (not funny) exploitation etc, but these have been expounded by many others in here.
My personal greatest problem with it lies in a passage in chapter 3, where Kyon goes on questioning how Mikuru can suddenly shoot lasers to a stupid monolog about time, Haruhi and other stuff about growing up to a being capable of altering the reality. This stupidity is repeated in the next chapter with this line.
"You can’t have what you want unless you’re extremely rich or powerful. Go become a politician or something."
Like how can some say this stupid line about a literal God.
Thus, while the book has some excellent sences, it is thoroughly disappointing.
