Daily Life of the Ancient Egyptians by Bob Brier

Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.

I don't know how accurate this book actually is, but I found it hard to trust the author's portrayal of Ancient Egypt, since he treats the people he's writing about in such an infatilizing way. (Eg. saying they were like "pets" for thinking gods ruled their world, or making it seem like belief in an afterlife materialized out of thin air with the pyramids.)
