Fresh Complaint by Jeffrey Eugenides
5.0
Eugenides is still one of my absolute favorite writers. His characters are so real, and so authentically sad and disappointing and let down by life--just like we all are--that it's almost painful to read. But the writing is so beautiful at the same time, I can vividly picture almost everything he writes about. There were some stories that I liked better than others, and I was disappointed that multiple stories relied on men having affairs with young (underage) women as the point of conflict. But overall, a highly enjoyable collection. I just wish we didn't have to wait as long between his books.
