In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

5.0

I read this a few years back, way before I ever was part of the “bookstagram” community and the Goodreads community as well, so I had absolutely no idea what this book is about. I didn’t read any reviews or anyone’s thoughts/opinions. That being said, I think it was the best way to read this book.

The perfect book to read during the winter season and when one is alone!

It’s so atmospheric. I absolutely love the setting and the mood of the story. I love the changing perspectives of the main character but in completely different state of minds and different times. I love the fact that the reader can’t trust the main character either, and that the story gives the reader multiple characters to figure out who is the suspect. Yes, it’s a bit of a cliche, but honestly the atmosphere and the pacing of the story overpowers it and I think it makes a great pop-corn read!!
