The Spear: A Novel of the Crucifixion by Louis de Wohl, Louis de Wohl

4.0

The characterization of the various side-characters in the story of Crucifixion was compelling and their motivations sounded plausible. I'd say de Wohl drew the contemporary (political) situation rather well.
The author kind of lost me when it came to
Spoiler the female love interest (too docile, too meek, too good for this world) and the adultery shoehorned into the narrative for the sake of wrapping the biblical events in all too closely.
