13.8: The Quest to Find the True Age of the Universe and the Theory of Everything by John Gribbin

5.0

Well done book. Everything developed to support the 13.8 billion year old age findings of our universe. Chapters had names like:
0: 2.712 - Temperature of the Universe is 2.712 K
1: 2.898 - Wien's Law for temperature: T / lambda-max = 2.898
2: 0.008 - As 4 Hydrogen fuse into Helium in the Sun, the He mass is 0.008 parts less and becomes Energy.
3: 7.65 - The Resonance of carbon-12 nucleus is 7.65 MeV
4: 13.2 - Globular Cluster ages, white dwarf cooling ages and radiometric ages assure the age of the Universe to approximately 13.2 billion years
5: 31.415 - A Cepheid variable star with a period of 31.415 days found in the Andromeda Galaxy proved the galaxy must lie at least 1 million light years away.
6: 575 - 575 km/sec/Mpc is Lemaitre's 1927 early value for the Hubble Constant (before Hubble)
7: 75 - Hubble Constant is ~75 km/sec/Mpc as of 1958 (as of Oct 14, 2019 = 74.2)
8: 13.8 - The Universe is 13.8 Billion Years Old
