A Knight's Temptation by Lana Williams

4.0

Even though I haven't yet read the first book in this series ([b:A Knight's Quest|26809615|A Knight's Quest (Falling For A Knight, #1)|Lana Williams|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1443116932s/26809615.jpg|46207543]) or the introductory novella ([b:A Knight's Christmas Wish|23637916|A Knight's Christmas Wish|Lana Williams|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1417408603s/23637916.jpg|43242421]) this book drew me in right away to Braden and Ilisa's story. There's all kinds of good things going on here--an enemies-to-lovers vibe, protector/protectee romance, a temporary marriage, espionage, and a hint of magic. I'm not at all familiar with the historical events that surround the trilogy, but it didn't matter--this is one heck of a story, and I can't wait to get to the others!

I listened to the audiobook version, which was enjoyable--the narrator had the odd habit of announcing the end of the chapter (by number, nonetheless), pausing rather dramatically, and then announcing the new chapter, which was a bit odd but I got used to it. He had a nice accent, though, and didn't go overboard trying to make different voices, which can sometimes go badly. I'd definitely listen to him again.

Rating: 4 stars / A-
