Iain Reid is a master at mind-bending, hypnotic prose. I was immediatel hooked to the writing, and it was suspenseful. The only thing that disappointed me is I was waiting for a twist because it felt like it was going there, but it never did. I do feel the underlying themes are the human horrors of life, death, and the aging mind (dementia).
Reid's writing is ambiguous and will absolutely consume you as you try to figure out WTF you just read. 😂
I think that is what makes it really good literature, though! I enjoy the discussions surrounding the book because there are so many different interpretations!
