This book was a five-star read, up The video game chapter was disorienting, and Sadie had hit peak levels of insufferability. The main characters were nuanced, flawed (to the point of being unlikeable on a few occasions), and well-developed, but I often found their issues with each other to be based on a lack of communication. Overall I found the book to be well-written, engaging, and charming, with a few faults. I still recommend this for gamers and lovers of coming-of-age stories. Please note there is some triggering content related to gun violence, homophobia, car accidents, mental illness, and medical content.

until Sam tried to convince Sadie to come back to work after Marx (the best character in the book) died. The story hits a low-point for me then, up until Sadie and Sam reunite at Bong Cha's funeral.Graphic: Car accident, Death of parent, Suicide, Homophobia, and Gun violence
