Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

4.0

Fun read. I liked how the relationship developed between the two main characters. And in this sense I wish there was more to the book so that we could see where the story goes. I also liked how in the end, (and in different spots in the book) she is not blindly following her abbess. She makes up her own mind, finds her heart. And I never really bought that Duval was a traitor... that part of the book was not so well done, but I think teenagers can and will just keep reading! I also think the author could have worked something out with how Ismae saves Duval. It either could have been more romantic, or something entirely different. What ended up happening was a let-down, especially compared to their first intimate moment--that was sweet and romantic.
