Outlove: A Queer Christian Survival Story by Julie Rodgers

challenging dark emotional hopeful informative inspiring reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

I've read *several* of these Christian coming out memoirs, and didn't know if another one would be that meaningful. But as I listened to the audiobook, I ordered a hard copy so I could go back and mark passages where I felt seen as a form of personal storytelling. Julie has managed to articulate quite well many of the challenging threads of the experience of growing up gay within the evangelical universe.
I found myself moving quickly through the book, which is saying something; I'm not the best reader.
