Les âmes grises by Philippe Claudel

2.0

This wasn’t what I expected, and I almost dnf’d it, and I honestly can’t decide if I’m glad I didn’t or I wish I had. The prose itself is very good, but a significant portion of the story just dddrrraagggs, and there is some timeline hopping that is confusing. The story itself picks up toward the end, but the scene where he murders his newborn son…I can’t.
