Aftermath by D.J. Molles

3.0

The writing is still consistently terrible. Tons of cliché sayings such as "lee kept those cards close to his chest," "The crowd grumbled disapprovingly," "eyes became sharp daggers" ; as well as overly-inclusive mixed metaphor descriptions like the following: "Lee regarded Bus who stood like an angered god with his brawny arms crossed over his chest and a deep redness taking over his olive complexion." Not even making that last one up. And The Remaining (Aftermath) is liberally salted and peppered with statements like this.

When (If) D.J. Molles' writing skill catches up with his enthralling action-movie plots, I'm going to be terribly excited to follow this author like a rabid Infected, clawing my way to get my hands on his brain! The last 4th of the book glued my hands to the kindle device and prevented me from dropping it until I finished the book! Lots of action, lots of stuff and things!

And if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get sucked into the third book now.
