Why I Am An Atheist: An Autobiographical Discourse by Bhagat Singh

5.0

"You are giddy with fame and have developed an ego which is standing like a black curtain between you and the God"

Bhagat Singh's friend said when he was informed of Bhagat Singh's atheism during their incarceration and failed to incite faith of god in him

Why I am an Atheist is basically an answer to the previous response on how he who was born in a family who were believers turned to atheism.
How he as a kid who believed in god came to not believing in it. The revolutionary party he was a part were mostly composed of believers and even leaders were firm believers of god.

I was astonished by the fact bhagat singh being so young had a vivid understanding of things. The questions, the philosophy, the reasoning he puts forward for his own beliefs are so wonderful & thought provoking. Me myself not being a religious person has pondered over some of the questions but his approach was absolutely amazing.

When a friend of Bhagat Singh said to him " During last days you will begin to believe" , he said" No, dear Sir, it shall not be. I will think that to be an act of degradation and demoralization on my part. For selfish motives I am not going to pray."

I highly recommend this to everyone. it is a short read but definitely worth it.
