The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

5.0

I really don’t know how to review this one. Books written by victims of atrocities are particularly difficult in that regard. Anne’s diary is something that I feel everyone should want to read, it’s just a matter of how to bring that about. I don’t believe in forcing people to read specific books but Anne Frank’s Diary is so impressive that it stands out among the world’s vast accumulation of literature, so while I wouldn’t force it upon anyone, I feel that promoting it is a must.

I read this when I was young and fairly forgot most of it. I don’t even remember what impact it had on me back then. I was young and rather dumb (or perhaps just not as interested as I would like myself to have been). Now I’m more contemplative and see the immense worth of this diary. You should give it a read and see for yourself what lessons Anne has to teach us. That’s what wished to do... to go on living after her death.
