Again, another great core story weighed down by too many words. Tiny tiny ones crammed onto a page at that. In a MG book? Do publishers even care about their target audience anymore or no? Remember, kids are no longer in the height of the Harry Potter phase where reading long books is a status thing. These are tiktok kids. Their attention span is crap and growing worse daily. That being said, I love the folklore in this book and how it delves into history. I wish I could safely recommend it to more middle schoolers I know, but they will run from all of the tiny tiny words crammed onto so many pages.
