The Idea of You by Robinne Lee

3.0

The story follows Solène Marchand, a 39-year-old art gallery owner, who falls for Hayes Campbell, a 20-year-old boy band sensation. While the premise is intriguing, I found the book dragging at times. It lacked that oomph I crave in a romance. There was minimal build-up or slow burn, and the sexual tension wasn't quite there. Perhaps it was because the characters knew they wouldn't have many chances to see each other, so they dove into the relationship quickly.

However, I did appreciate how the story portrayed the struggles of women in their 30s and 40s healing from a divorce, trying to start over, and meeting someone new who is years younger. The challenges of dating someone very popular and dealing with public judgment were well-explored.
